Brindabella Spring Time in Southwest NSW and Capital Country

Brindabella Spring Time in Southwest NSW and Capital Country

Well spring is now fully here the canola has lost its flowers and seeds are ripening. We had a great flowering season here and we had a few nice surprises, the 2nd pic is Dendrobium speciosum 'Georges River Special' first time its flower for me and yes it is as good as they say, a lovely big flower and highly fragrant. the 3rd pic is Dendrobium Aussie Jester a hybrid between Den,. Autumn and Den. Jesmond Sparkler, I got this baby from AON, a very nice good sized flower with nice straight spikes and the flowers opened fully, the last pic is my favourite, I grow a lot of Dendrobium speciosum Grandiflorums and for that matter speciosums in general, they grow extremely well but the grandis seldom flower, I don't grow them in hot houses just an open bush house, with a winter roof or under a tree canopy, I think our harsh winters definately dont help, but I keep trying. Well this year I had 3 flower, 2 of the Den. spec. Katrina Remakes as per the 4th pic and a Den. spec. Creek Aureum x Katrina, which is sensational, so never lose hope the wait is definately worth it.
